Gilbert's Inn — Rooms and Suites in The Bight, Cat Island

Gilbert’s Inn is in The Bight, at the centre of Cat Island — under five minutes from New Bight Airport and walking distance from the beach, the Regatta site and the road up to Mount Alvernia.

Sixteen rooms in total, all air conditioned, with maid service included. It is a simple, comfortable place to base yourself rather than a resort, which suits the island.

Rooms

One and two bedroom rooms with king or queen beds, mini fridge, microwave, TV and air conditioning.

Suites

One, two and three bedroom suites with queen beds and the same amenities. Good for families and longer stays.

Included

Maid service, air conditioning throughout, and parking directly outside for your rental vehicle.

Next door

The New Bight Food Store and Candy’s Liquor Store are immediately alongside, with a laundry close by.

Where it puts you

The Bight is the practical middle of Cat Island. From the door you are five minutes from the airport, a few minutes from New Bight beach and the government dock, and about ten minutes’ walk from the trail up to The Hermitage on Mount Alvernia. The Queen’s Highway runs past, so the north and south ends of the island are both reachable in a morning.

Rooms and vehicles are booked separately. If you want both, tell us your dates and we will line them up. Send us a message or check vehicle availability first.

Booking a room

Room bookings are handled by phone and email rather than through the online system, which is set up for vehicles. Call, WhatsApp or email us with your dates and how many people are travelling, and we will confirm what is free.

If you are still working out whether Cat Island is your kind of trip, the island guide covers what there is to do and how to get here. For anything about the cars, see the fleet or the FAQ.
