With a population of approximately 1700. Cat Island offers one of the last remaining true island experiences. It is rich in Bahamian culture and heritage and only a 35 minute flight away from the capital city of Nassau via SkyBahamas which flies to the Island twice a day and seven days a week.
We offer convenient and affordable living accommodation and transportation. We are located at the heart of Cat Island, The Bight, less than a five minute drive to New Bight Airport, New Bight Beach, native restaurants, the Regatta site, and Mount Alvernia, the nation’s highest peak.
Regatta weekend (Emancipation weekend) and Rake ‘n’ Scrape (First Friday in August) are Cat Island’ largest events in which people from all over The Bahamas and the world come to experience the Bahamian culture in the form of music, native cuisines and a variety of different events.
